countries overseas have seen a trend of people staying in 3D printed
houses. On the feasibility of 3D printed homes, Assistant Professor Qian Shunzhi
from Nanyang Technological University's Singapore Centre for 3D Printing explained that the current
mainstream 3D printing technology for houses is not compatible with Singapore.
Singapore has land and space constraints. The current technology is not
efficient for constructing high-rise apartments. Furthermore, there is a lack
of a regulatory framework for such buildings in Singapore and it will take time
before this can be in place.
