In a recent interview for Channel 8's Hello Singapore <<狮城有约>>, Associate Professor Tor Shu Beng, from the Singapore Centre for 3D Printing (SC3DP), shared his insights on 3D printing, its applications and potential advantages.
Prof Tor states that while 3D printing is still in the research stages, it has shown complementary advantages to traditional manufacturing, such as
- Production of complicated geometrical shapes and hard to make parts
- Production of highly customised products with reduced number of parts
- Automation of labour-intensive work
